Lest we forget
Had intended going to the Remembrance service in Wakefield but madam was reluctant to go out, and it was pouring at the time we would have had to leave. Poor excuse, and I wish I had made the effort but I watched the scenes at the Cenotaph in London instead.
Got cabin fever this afternoon and braved the drizzle - went round to the war memorial in the local park and then drove through to town to see the memorial there. The gusty winds were blowing wreaths around which was a shame.
Good to see so many people across the country paying their respects today. This was part of a tribute to lives lost in the more recent wars.
