End of an Era

On he way home we stopped off at the remains of Pleasey Pit, once one of the deepest coal mines in Derbyshire and a hive of industry, now all that remains  are the head stocks, a chimney and the two enormous winding engines ( extra) kept preserved by volunteers and the classification of a world heritage site. Its amazing that in 20 years an entire industry has vanished may be for good leaving just the odd relic ad the memories of old miners who are happy to show you around and tell their stories of king coal. An interesting if slightly sad day out !!!!!

Apologies for the absence of blips and comments on your work, its been a hectic few days, hopefully I will mange a bit more this week :) have managed to post a few back date this afternoon.
