Carnation

Just a dull damp day - too wet to go outside so an indoor blip today.  Bought these carnations on Thursday and they were tight buds and opening very slowly. We had gone to the Ship for what we thought would be  a quit meal  yesterday afternoon.it ended up being  quite a drama. Sarah (daughter no 2) brought cup cakes for the birthday cake  and lighting what we thought were large candles - they shot feet in the air and set off the smoke alarm.  After I read the instructions on the candle (nobody had bothered to look at that) you lit them and them moved a metre away.  KG and Amanda definitely weren;t!  I don't think we will forget this birthday in a hurry
