Bridge over the Tweed
After a lovely lunch in Chapters at Gattonside we walked to the Chain Bridge which crosses the Tweed and ends in the lovely town of Melrose. It was originally a toll bridge built in 1826 and after you cross you can see the Toll House on the far side and the original toll notices can be seen on the bridge.
