Rosa Mundi Gallica.
I mentioned this yesterday, this particular bloom seems to be a darker pink than the others. Rosa gallica 'Versicolor' as it is also known is one of the most famous of all the old garden roses. The curious name "rosa mundi" comes from the Latin literally means rose of the world (impure) as opposed to the Latin "rosa munda" meaning "pure rose". The name therefore alludes to the impurity of its colouring being splashed red and white.
A busy day, but I managed to work at home and by not being disturbed got everything done.
