How To Look Cool On Your Bike, Regent Street

Some people just manage to look effortlessly cool even on a sticky, humid day like today. This man seemed unworried about the traffic as he stopped in the middle of Regent Street. Even the pedestrians parted like the Red Sea so he could pose perfectly!
I could never ride my bike in Central London - I would be too scared about being flattened by a bus or lorry, or running over a pedestrian!
To be serious for a minute though, the other thing I would never do is cycle without a helmet. About 18 months ago I had a relatively low speed accident where I fell off my bike and hit my head. Even though I had my helmet on I still got concussion, and although I spent over four hours at the hospital I barely remember 15 minutes of it and apparently repeated the same question over and over again during that period. I also didn't remember how I cycled home after the incident. I would hate to know what would have happened if I hadn't been wearing my helmet.
