U3A walk on south downs

Thursday again and we caught the train to Haslemere for a walk on the south downs. I was hoping for wonderful autumn colours but they are almost over now; all the beautiful leaves underfoot becoming mushy and slippery. The weather was not promising, it was misty and drizzly although quite warm, luckily we got to the pub for lunch before the heavens opened.
