Graduating cousins

Today was my son's graduation from Durham University. He was seated next to another graduating student, Emily Maudsley. It turns out that Emily is Nic's third cousin and this was the first time they had met.

Emily's grandmother and my mother (Nic's grandmother) are first cousins.

Nic has a knack of having happy co-incidences happen to him. This is a particularly lovely one.
