Blackface shearing

Shearing today and I love it!

I love the sounds and smells and the good banter that goes with it!

Thought I'd give you a before and after shot....coat on and coat off!

I'm sure this handsome boy (the sheep not the shearer!!) was immensely pleased to get his heavy coat off as it was very warm and muggy today although overcast! The tups(rams) are a bit of a handful to shear as they are quite strong and heavy and tend to run at you instead of away from you. Although by the end all the sheep were edgy and wanting out having been kept in overnight to dry off.

Good "craic" (banter) at lunchtime!

First lot done sucessfully (after a temporary setback when the generator wouldn't start after lunch) more to come!! Good for you R (with a little help from J)!
