Autumn colours....

The trees on my way home are magnificent at the moment. Although the weather has been a bit iffy, it hasn't been windy, so many still have their leaves and the leaves that have fallen have formed a reflective carpet underneath.

But it was the hydrangeas that I noticed today. We had a huge blue one in our garden as I grew up and the flower heads were truly massive. I don't recall its autumn colour, but I do love the dusky pink these blooms are wearing this year. 

I moved in close to take a macro shot and saw I wasn't the only one enjoying them ...

It's been a long day, some good, some not so good... and some sad with young pupils needing extra TLC  at the moment.
