Oh, Jack!
While I was on the phone this morning Jack wandered past the window, but in spite of needing to get his meds to him I had to stay on the phone as it was my second call from Apple Support.
Months ago I finally decided to update my OS to Yosemite - it all went horribly wrong, I had to reinstall everything and ended up where I'd started, using Maverick ..
A couple of days ago I saw we'd moved on to yet another OS - Il Capitan .. I Googled it and it seemed OK, so like a fool I updated. I now have no incoming email (though can still access webmail) .. Safari constantly freezes so I've ditched it in favour of Firefox .. and the new Photo app is complete rubbish. I have almost 20,000 photos, all labelled .. and they now appear in Photo with no labels and totally unsearchable. By some weird magic I've managed to get iPhoto back so have at least resolved that problem.
I had an hour long phone call with Apple Support on Monday - and was given homework to check all the required email settings .. and had another one hour call today and STILL have no incoming mail .. and am being told that it's a coincidence that my mail has stopped working and has nothing to do with updating my OS.
Pfffffttttt ...
Right - I've got that off my chest now ..
Meanwhile, back in the garden .. I went out and called for Jack. He's staying more and more distant. We ended up having a half hour Mexican stand off - him at the bottom of the garden and me sitting on my garden chair, staring at each other!
I came indoors - and Jack slowly ventured into the garden, so I went up to mum's bedroom and called him and he decided that he was safe enough with me out of the way, so finally came for his antibiotic jam sandwich!
Last night I put some chicken and gravy and a jam sandwich in the trap on an old plastic lid. This morning the lot (including lid) was gone - I'd put it in the wrong flipping place and the trap wasn't triggered! Aaargh! It may work in my favour - they think they can go in there safely ... mwahahahaha!
