What a man!

This is my Dad at the age of 85.  He helped my sister do some housework for my Mom today - cleaning the oven.  He is having to take on many more household jobs these days now that the dementia is affecting Mom's ability to remember how to do things and he is doing all this with incredible patience and at a great personal cost.  Yes there are times when he is obviously frustrated and feeling unwell himself and in need of a great deal of support from us, but all of the time he carries on without complaining  and with much love.

I wish all women had a man like my Dad...

I've had a day devoted to Dementia today as I've spent it with a Dementia support worker going to churches in the Shrewsbury area finding out about how they are beginning to work at becoming Dementia Friendly Churches.  There is at long last a real move towards supporting all those living with Dementia.  We've got a long way to go but at least we are trying to understand now.
