Yuccy weather!

I left it almost too late today to Blip and it was pretty gloomy when I went out with the camera at 4.45. I got pictures of various things, and some were sharp in spite of being hand-held at a quarter of a second, but I thought that the flash darkened the background of this one and made the flowers stand out.

This is a yucca, but I've never been quite sure of the species. It might be Y. recurvifolia or maybe Y. filamentosa. I should try to check it out. Most of them come from SW USA or Mexico and enjoy well-drained soil in sun, just what we have plenty of here.
