Perspective

It was good to get out of shrewsbury today and to spend some time in Birmingham city without having to run around it.

I had a mentoring meeting with the Head of Local Ministries at YFC, somebody I respect and admire in equal parts. It felt really great to articulate some of my recent ponderings and to get some fresh perspective on my itchy feet. The whole thing went very differently from how I was anticipating it would, and I left feeling lighter and much happier. I then gave myself an extra half an hour before getting the train back just to wander and continue the processing and head high for a little more perspective.

(As an aside, I don't mean to be overly critical about the city of my birth but why on earth does Birmingham continue to build the most horrific looking buildings that are all likely to be hideous eye sores in approximately seven years? The new station, made entirely from tin foil, is the latest in a series of terrible errors, in my honest opinion).

One musketeer is going on a date with another musketeer this evening, so me and the remaining musketeer are going to amuse ourselves on a coffee date after work. I should be running but it's simply too dark and depressing.
