Today's the day ........................ to replace

Oh dear - this sad little face is all that's left of our old gas boiler - and it's now sitting in the middle of the kitchen floor waiting to be carted off unceremoniously tomorrow to the tip.

It has served us well for many years.  So many in fact, that we can't quite remember when it was installed - but it's probably not far short of twenty.  It has never gone wrong.  It was still working fine this morning before the gas man came.  But in the way of these things - it's now very inefficient and costs us a load of money because it consumes lots of gas.

So instead, we will have a spanking new boiler that will operate on a mere whiff of gas.  It will be all-singing and all-dancing - and I will be able to phone it up on my mobile when I'm on the other side of the world.  It will tell me what the temperature is in my house and if I'd like it a bit warmer or cooler - I just have to tell it and it will obey my every command.

Or at least that's what the gas man said would happen when he was persuading us to buy it ...........................
