Devlish details

The newly formed chamfered stone pad in the porch area will bear two braced oak post and beam sections supporting the upper room. You can see the hole formed in the house wall top right which will support the end of the gallows beam. The stone lintel  over what will become an inner door opening, will be raised by about 95mm in order to accommodate the raised ground floor level.

150mm square section oak brackets at first floor level pick up the overhang and are built into the stonework.
