Little soccer balls.

These are  actually the mature female cones of a Cypress Lawsoniana tree. Along with many other trees this spring it has a prolific display and these are quite eye-catching with their subtle greenish blue colour. This tree is also known as a Port Orford cedar as they were first discovered near Port Orford in Oregon.  When viewed up close like this these little cones look like tiny little soccer balls to me. This my contribution to the Tiny Tuesday challenge.
