Look at this thing! Isn't it lovely?!!

The extra is the drama that occurred on our walk this morning. What appeared to be a young Sharp-shinned Hawk that had caught a Blue Jay. Our appearance on the road altered the outcome, I think. Which is to say, the Blue Jay got away when the hawk tried to carry it away from us. We'll never know if it survives, though it flew off successfully - a talon that punctured some part of it could doom it ultimately.

No time to comment or even visit journals tonight. #1 Son coming to dinner - with lady friend - to start his 40th birthday celebration. The actual day is Wednesday...
