Park Guell and a Multi Coloured Lizard Statue
Barcelona Day 4
This morning we walked up to Park Guell. The park was originally designed in the early 1900's by Gaudi, with the patronage of Guell to be an opulent and luxurious housing estate, but for various reasons it was never completed and was eventually donated to Barcelona city in 1922 as a municiple park. It is a very surreal and ever so slightly bonkers place, but as someone who loves lizards any housing estate with a multi coloured lizard statue in the middle has to be the place to live.
So sad to leave Barcelona as we have all totally fallen in love with the city and were extremely lucky to be the last flight allowed to land at Leeds Bradford Airport in the fog and narrowly escaped being diverted to Newcastle. I have completed all my backblips.
