Emerging...

The fungi keep on coming. This morning I found what I think might be the meadow coral - clavulinopsis corniculata - except it was growing in woodland rather than a meadow. My photograph of it wasn't properly focussed so I'll go back later in the week and investigate it further. In the meantime here's a clathrus archerii - the Octopus Stinkhorn - emerging from its "egg". I found half a dozen new "eggs" on a different part of the common so it seems that this rather rare fungus has managed to cross a minor road  in Sussex- as well as somehow getting here from Australasia.
