Tree and Grass at Sevilleta
Sevilleta is a wildlife refuge about 60 miles south of Albuquerque. It's a huge expanse -- 230,000 acres -- and is mostly a research facility, which means very little of it is open to the public. I managed to get a permit to take a class there (this Saturday) and my permit included several reconnaissance trips. I went down today, and this is one of the shots I got.
Sevilleta was originally a land grant from the King of Spain (there are still a lot of original land grants here in New Mexico) and was named for Sevilla.
