eve after a much needed bath

Today I learnt several things:

1. Never leave the house with limited supplies in the change bag;
2. It isn't possible to keep an 8 week old quiet in the back of the car while someone dials in to a conference call in the front, particularly when said 8 week old is determined to make you learn lesson 1 above;
3. When attending hospital appointments do not tell the humourless nurse that the newborn is back home being looked after by the cat who is very grown up for his age. She wasn't amused. Said child was in fact safely nestled in the car with her dad. However, I expect a visit from social services.
