The compost before winter

My daughter and I stirred the compost today for the last time before winter. We did also mumble small and kind words to all the earthworms that are in there, digging, digesting meanwhile we stirred.... 
I do look forward to upcoming Spring when it will be a new season for gardening. I LOVE to work, sit and relax in our garden.

The swans down at the lake was sounding as we stirred the compost. We hurried down to the lake to see the beautiful swans, 2 adults and 2 youngsters. Soon they will leave as we humans are left and wishing them all the best as well as a warm welcome back to us in Spring.

Everything is like a big longing.
