Strange and beautiful

This seeded itself in next door's garden, he didn't want it, we liked it but didn't have room for it, so we moved it as close as we could to our garden, though it's actually still in his!

It's a Gunnera.  Already pretty big and growing bigger every year!  This year's leaves are pretty tattered and torn now, but this tightly curled ball is waiting to unfurl next year.  An amazing looking plant in every way . . .
