Surgery Time

Amy's bumblefoot refused to go away so she had surgery today.   It was like an episode of Grey's Anatomy, 2 vets, one person on the anesthesia and all the vet techs dropping by to catch snippets of what was going on.  Vet let me watch so that I could do it myself next time, which is typical for chickens owners today because it's just to expensive to do.  She had no trouble with the anesthesia which was my main worry.  Now 2 weeks of antibiotics and daily dressing changes until it heals.  Do not look if you are squeamish but the extra photos if interested are the stitched up foot(vet's glove is rather bloody)  and bandaged foot which they let me do.
