Didn't expect to see you today!

Today was the second part of our meeting and all in all it has gone well. The initial despondence at the state of services in the NHS and the number of highly experience nurses losing their jobs, was replaced by the end with strategies for fighting back and providing services for patients, either within the NHS or the private sector!!

A good bit of news from this meeting is that I have finally relinquished the responsibilities as secretary. I've done it for 7 years and it's time for someone else to take on the job. No one wanted to do it so it has been given to the retiring chair, who will shift it to someone else at the next meeting!!!

I've had an aching jaw for a few days and got an emergency dental appointment for late afternoon. By the time I had driven home from Peterborough I also had a sore throat.

My gem of a dentist confirmed that my throat was red raw!! Thank you! And found the cause of the jaw pain! Treatment given and instructions to follow for the next week.

As I was passing the pond I had a look to see who was in residence. Very few geese and ducks, but this little soul was sitting on the side in the sunshine with two of its siblings.
