along the apple border

This is one of the borders in the garden I have the care of in Baltimore. Its still very new, this was a field only three years ago, but has grown well. Along the fence I am training espalier apples, only in their second year but fruiting already. The underplanting is catmint and snapdragons, sweet williams, cosmos, and perennial wallflower
I love this combination of colours, the hot scarlets and the cool mauves. Even on a dull misty day like today they shine.
