Barton Marina
We visited our friends John and Jennie today. They took us to Barton Marina at Barton under Needwood, a large narrow boat marina off the canal. The site has been developed since just being a boat workshop, still there, to include restaurants shops, cinema and pub, The Waterfront. We had lunch at the excellent Thai restaurant, Nipa, where I had a very good Thai Green Curry.
We took a walk around the marina before popping into one of the cafés for coffee. The marina is situated next to part of the National Forest with lovely walks by the lake and into the countryside. Unfortunately the weather was not kind being grey and damp so long walks were postponed.
