In the dark

We've been visiting friends in Aberdeen for the past three days. The weather was decidedly dreich but we had a good time and were not kept in. This morning the plan was to go to the refurbished Duthie Park. We got ready and the rain started quite heavily. We took coats off and sat down. The rain stopped but it was heavily overcast and really quite dark. We got coats on and drove across Anerdeen to the park. We got out and the rain started. We decided it would not stop us. It got heavier. It got heavier. One umbrella blew inside out. It got heavier. We went into the Winter Garden. It was warm and sheltered. There were some interesting and lovely flowers. This is one of them. We went home and had lunch. We left in heavy cloud. It was dark. Within a half hour the clouds lightened, some blue came, the sun showed himself. A bit like life.
