Fear no more the heat of the sun

I found this young bird just outside the front door in the border. I think it must have flown into the window. It looked so peaceful lying there amidst the flowers. I know it's a bit morbid but I felt I had to photograph it. When I turned into monochrome it was as if the bird became part of the plant and the earth ... which seemed sort of fitting somehow.

Maybe I should have blipped this much prettier and cheerier image. But then the bees will no doubt be there tomorrow.
