Boulogne sur mer

We left Belgium in grey, dull, rain and it had lifted a little by the time we arrived in Boulogne. We popped into the hyper market to pick up a couple of bits (we didn't have room in the car for too much) before heading into Boulogne old town. A little walk around before stopping for a lovely French lunch. A pop up on to the ramparts to look at the view across the port before taking the prettier coastal road back to Calais.

My phone screen had been frozen all day and Rebecca showed me how to unfreeze it once we returned home. So I didn't have it to take any pics and Mr C was using my camera but I took it off him to take this one and only blip. There were two artists painting the street scene with the church in the background.

I have had a lovely couple of days away with my parents and on telling them I am going to start to explore our family history, we had quite a few chats about their own childhood which was sadly not a happy one and they have given me the little bit of information they know to help me get started. So a new project is about to begin.
