Father of the Instant Image
I've been blipping graves of the famous and well known this fall. Here's the latest.
This is the grave of Edwin Land. You may not immediately recognize the name, but if you've ever used a Polaroid camera, a polarizing filter, or even polarized sunglasses, you have this man to thank. He is the "Land" of the Polaroid Land camera.
When I found out his grave was nearby, I really wanted to blip it with a Polaroid. I took many images, but they were all pretty disappointing (not to mention expensive at about $1.50 a shot). I ended up compromising and going digital with this blip. I hope Mr. Land, as an enthusiast for new technology, wouldn't mind.
