Rest stop

I was taken by surprise on my way home today when I saw these 5 Sandhill Cranes in my neighbor's newly harvested cornfield. I've seen these cranes about 3 times so far this year and I'm always surprised to see them in a field rather than near water, but according to the internet, they forage for grains in open meadows. I assume this bunch is migrating and stopped for some energy food on their way. 

It rained all day today, we didn't have any heavy rain, just a light steady one. It was light enough that the cats still wanted to come in and out all day.
