inspired by a mole

The gas men are in our crescent, digging holes. Well, actually, they are not digging holes. They have come with this amazing machine called a mole that does the work for them - very noisily. It sucks up the soil out of the ground and then when the huge machine is full of soil, it unfolds itself and disgorges the contents in a heap on the ground, looking somewhat like a giant molehill.

There are now holes all round the crescent. The next task is to reach our meter box under the stairs. There is talk of removing plants, carpets and floorboards. I'm not so sure I will be so inspired when that happens!
