Wild Enokitake

Another sunny and lovely autumn day! We have had very little rain this autumn, which is good for the human spirit, but perhaps less good for the 'shrooms. But these beautiful Flammulina velutipes, the wild form of Enokitake, seemed to grow very well on the stem of a dead American Elm (Ulmus americana).
