Flaming wine

I seem to have been away for a while...  Some busy blips to catch up on when I find a moment, this is just to reassure you all that I'm still around and cooking (on gas).

Today, an early start, a bit of cooking (the above is part of a boeuf bourgignone of many parts), lots of shopping and a fair amount of taxi driving for the kids.  Also some slightly unpleasant wildlife cleaning from behind the freezer that I won't go into in case anyone's having their tea.

Later, some not very happy family news from Canada was a bit unsettling.

Now, ironing is queueing politely for my attention, so I'd best get back to it.  More pals arrive tomorrow, so a weekend of extreme relaxation is on the cards.
