Red sky
Might be worth going large
At the end of a long damp grey day, I was walking home from the neighbours' house when I saw that all the trees along the forest edge were lit up in glowing shades of russet and burnt orange.
I hurried to get the camera but within a minute or so the light had changed and the trees had gone a darker and duller shade of muted red-brown. Sometimes the urge to 'capture" things with a camera may get in the way of drinking them in with the senses. But then moments later the clouds began to light up in colours, and over the next twenty minutes there was the most spectacular sunset, the hues and shapes shifting and sliding almost as in a kaleidoscope. I climbed over the fence into the cow field next door to get this shot. Our cat, Biscuit, came along with me and seemed to want to share the peace and beauty of it all.
The would-be shepherds in the village must be dancing their socks off...
