Flamingo Chick in a flap!

I was so excited today in Birdland to see the flamingo chick in the lake....it has been in a pen the last few visits and I couldn't get a good shot of it but it just looked so lovely today, wading through the water and having a flap.

Birdland got an egg from another park and incubated it. It is a Caribbean flamingo chick (bright red, pictured in extras) but as you can see it is in with the Greater Flamingoes (pale pink) as that area is safer from foxes. They are hoping to be able to put it in with its relatives soon. I will keep you posted!
