Toad Lily

One of the most spectacular flowers in the border must be the Toad Lily, because of the incredibly intricate design and pattern of the flowers.

Tricyrtis formosana is a hardy perennial from Taiwan which makes a good border plant and flowers very late in the season. There are several species and many cultivars - this is probably the most common of them all, but is none the worse for that!
