Wild Strawberry (Fragaria vesca)
It's a cold, dull, dark day - I've had the heating and electric light on all day. So a sort of adminny day - e.g. renewing Road Tax online, catching up with emails, etc etc. Did stroll out to look at my wild strawberry plants and amazingly they are still going strong as you can see from my blip. Usually it stops producing flowers by end of July, and stops fruiting by end of September! I've had the plant for about five years (a birthday prezzie from son Trevor) and I can't remember it being active so late in the year. From the look of the flowers they will still be fruiting for a couple of weeks a least. I'v never used it as such (haven't needed to), but wild strawberry is an elixir that prevents wrinkles and refreshes complexions. Mashed strawberries used for face treatments have an excellent effect, so I'm told! Can't imagine it! Have a nice day, Everyone:-)
