Mono Monday - Origins

It was bright sunny when we set out on our walk - but it clouded over fairly quickly.

This was the view looking back towards our village - the origin of the crepuscular rays are a point behind the clouds. The image was almost mono before being processed in Silver Efex Pro. I like it that the tree is not quite silhouetted - there is enough light to just show the detail in the trunk.

Whilst walking along the edge of a field we disturbed a bird of prey (not sure if it was a kestrel or sparrowhawk) - it flew off leaving behind a mess of a pigeon (see extra shot - but not if you are easily upset). As it flew into the nearby trees there was a mass exodus of other birds
