THE TIDES OF CHANGE

Bit of a blow today and rather wet. Dashed out for a Turtle Dove down the road just as I made a cup of coffee. Didn't see it. Then in the afternoon I wasted a mint tea bag as G burst through the door to tell me the Turtle Dove was further along the road. Got there, saw it, and a very nice Dove it was too. Walking back we could see people had put sea defences in place and the waves were breaking over them. Down at the quay I saw a yacht tied up but one of its buffer things had got flipped over onto the quay and the side of the yacht was scraping along the stone wall. I tried to push it out and free it with my foot but with no luck. Then a man appeared (in blue carpet slippers) from the yacht wondering what I was doing no doubt. He then saw the problem and said he'd tied up too tight and proceeded to loosen his ropes. Which made me feel slightly less of a pillock.
