Autumn!

I spent some time out with the foxes this morning - they look so lovely lying amongst the autumn leaves. Poor Jack's face is looking bad again. A friend's sending some more antibiotics, so I'll give him another course and hope for the best.

My extra photo is a mystery - do we have any scientists here? I looked over the little wall into the creek when I went to my local patch today - and there was this very odd, very regular formation of something or other floating on the surface of the water. What on earth is it?
