Full frontal

This morning, we set off at a decent hour and after a good breakfast to walk to St Paul's. Rich didn't think he'd ever been up into the galleries so we thought we'd rectify that. Even though I'd been two or three times, I don't recall ever hearing the whispering. Because we were there for it opening, we were pretty much first up there and had a bit of fun sharing secrets around the dome. The audio guide was really good too and we learnt some interesting things about the building of it, the amazing organ and one of the fascinating new art installations.

After that, we had a quick look at the bubble gum art on Millennium Bridge before making our way towards the West End. We picked our way purposefully through the back streets enjoying the quieter side of London.  After lunch in Covent Garden, we headed to the theatre to see Kinky Boots. What a show! An absolute must see if you enjoy the theatre. It was definitely up there with the best shows I've seen.

Overheard quote of the day: "We're on the second row. It's full frontals!"

In the evening, we met up with some old and very good friends who had returned from the States only a few weeks ago after working there for a few years.  It was just like old times and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The Mexican food was simply an added bonus on an already good night.  We finished off with a drink in a London pub before heading our separate ways home.
