First of the season

A much happier blip today.... This is the first blue banded bee (Amegilla cingulata) of our season.  You can't really see the blue bands all that clearly, but they are there I promise.

I had to see the ophthalmologist earlier today about cataracts, and thankfully, they are finally ready to be removed.

So just two weeks to go - the first one comes off 3rd November, and the second one, a week later.  I am so excited.  I'll be able to see properly again, and I may even be able to dispense with the glasses altogether.  I've been wearing them since I was 14, and can't imagine life without the specs.
