Easter Dalry House

Tucked away down Distillery Lane, behind Haymarket Station, lies this little gem of an mid-C18 house. It appears on the OS maps of 1849, predating the construction of the Caledonian Distillery of 1855, from which the lane is named, parts of which still survive - all except the chimney as conversion to flats.

The original driveway passed to the left of this view of the house, through extensive grounds to the main entrance on the other side, which is now obscured by modern extensions. By 1876 it appears that the entrance was direct from Dalry Road, (to our left) retaining only a reduced garden on this side, the back entrance, now a car park for the offices that occupy the building.
