The Works Heron

I read a couple of weeks ago in Alicemaylara's journal that Barney had become the 'works dog'. Well this is kind of the 'works heron'. This is taken from a second storey window overlooking the old mill pond. This chap was sat on the old sluice mechanism for a couple of hours and he's there most mornings. Must be rich pickings in that there pond. Although he didn't appear to be much interested, just stood there on one leg and did a bit of casual preening now and again :)
