End of the line....

Had a walk in Preston today and realized that I had never been to the end of the Lancaster canal despite walking/running on many sections in the past.
I was determined to actually start my walk at the very end and despite a few false starts eventually found a way through. I'm glad to say that there was not as much debris and rubbish as I might have expected and lots of houses backing onto the canal have made a great effort to make the canal part of there environment.
At one time the canal basin ended in the dock area of the town but this has long gone, although in the resent past they have built a link so craft can cross the River Ribble and enter the Leeds-Liverpool canal at Tarleton although this is tidal.
