The Laughing Horse

We went to Assateague Island National Seashore off the southeastern coast of Maryland today.  This is home to wild horses that are free to roam wherever they want.  They are far from tame but do let you get quite close. Signs are posted all over warning that they can bite, charge, and stomp without warning and to stay a minimum of 10 feet away.  

This horse was lying down when we got to the park and had gotten up about a minute before I took this picture.  Although it looks like she is laughing,  she was actually yawning.
