A Face

I wouldn’t want mine
to be held up to the light
for all to examine

so I don’t anticipate
(though I do get photographed)
that I will ever pose for a portrait.

I’m aware that, for some of you,
a self-portrait is a blip
you’re happy(?) to do

and hope you might say
why, on occasions, you choose
to have your face on display?
